I'm A Proud Conservative, And I Reject That Kind Of Live-for-today, 'me Generation,' Attitude. It Is Unworthy Of Us And Incompatible With Our Reputation As Visionaries And Problem Solvers. Americans Have Never Feared Change. We Make Change Work For Us.

I Have No Rancor. I Look Forward, Not Backwards.

I Guarantee You, As President Of The United States, I Know How To Heal The Wounds Of War, I Know How To Deal With Our Adversaries, And I Know How To Deal With Our Friends.

I Have Fought Against Excessive Spending My Entire Career. And I Got Plans To Reduce And Eliminate Unnecessary And Wasteful Spending And If There's Anybody Here Who Thinks There Aren't Agencies Of Government Where Spending Can Be Cut And Their Budgets Slashed They Have Not Spent A Lot Of Time In Washington.

My Preference Would Be To Remain In The Senate, ... But You Can't Say I Would Refuse To Serve In One Of Those (cabinet) Capacities. It's Not The Same As Vice President.
