Trickle-down Did Not Work. It Got Us Into The Mess We Were In, In 2008 And 2009. Slashing Taxes On The Wealthy Hasn’t Worked. And A Lot Of Really Smart, Wealthy People Know That. And They Are Saying, Hey, We Need To Do More To Make The Contributions We Should Be Making To Rebuild The Middle Class.

I Believe That What I've Worked For - Women And Children, Civil Rights Against Poverty, Trying To Level The Playing Field For People To Have A Better Chance - Is What I Still Believe Is Important And What I'm Trying To Do Today.

I Have Met So Many People Who Had Their Life Savings Wiped Out, Who Lost Their Homes, Who Are Barely Back With Their Heads Above Water.this Was A Disaster For Our Country, And We Can Never Let That Happen Again.

We Can't Go To People Who Have Lost Their Job At Gm And Say, 'oh, By The Way, We Are Going To Pay Money To Build A Road Here Or Inoculate Children There,' Unless We Can Demonstrate That It Is In America's Interest. I Happen To Think It Is.
