I Believe That People Of My Income Group Should Pay More, And I Explained Why, But That Won't Necessarily Lift Overall Wage Levels.

The Arts Have Long Been An Integral And Vibrant Part Of Our Nation's Cultural Heritage. In Its Many Forms, Art Enables Us To Gain A Deeper Understanding Of Ourselves And Of Our Society. Providing Us With A Unique Way To Learn About People Of Other Cultures, It Allows Us To Discover All That We Have In Common. At Its Best, Art Can Beautify Our Cities, Encourage Economic Development And Social Change, And Profoundly Affect The Ways We Live Our Lives.

Americans - Not Just Starting Thirty Years Ago But Going Back To The Beginning, When We Were Rebelling Against King George - We've Always Been Of Two Minds About The Government, Which Is Why The Framers Wrote The Constitution The Way They Did.

So We, Democrats, Have A Responsibility There, Every One Of Us, Both To Try To Treat The Republicans With Respect And As Human Beings To Try To Work With Them On Every Issue We Can, And Then If Those Cannons Are Fired At Us, We've Got To Stand Up And Fight Back. If You Lay Down And You Look Like A Deer Caught In The Headlights, Then You Will Confirm The Assault. And So We Have To Fight Back.
