For There Is Hardly A State Or Nation In Existence Which Has Not Once Had The Misfortune, Even If It Was In The Right A Thousand Times Over, To Be Defeated By A Stronger Opponent Or A Stronger Coalition.

In This Hour I Would Ask Of The Lord God Only This: That, As In The Past, So In The Years To Come He Would Give His Blessing To Our Work And Our Action, To Our Judgement And Our Resolution, That He Will Safeguard Us From All False Pride And From All Cowardly Servility, That He May Grant To Us To Find The Straight Path Which His Providence Has Ordained For The German People, And That He May Ever Give Us The Courage To Do The Right, Never To Falter, Never To Yield Before Any Violence, Before Any Danger.

There Is, Then, No Danger In The Circumstances That Anti-semitism Will Disappear, For It Is The Jews Themselves Who Add Fuel To Its Flames And See That It Is Kept Well Stoked. Before The Opposition To It Can Disappear, The Malady Itself Must Disappear. And From That Point Of View, You Can Rely On The Jews: As Long As They Survive, Anti-semitism Will Never Fade.
