The God Of The World Is The Gold And The Silver. The World Worships This God. It Is All-powerful To Them, Though They Might Not Be Willing To Acknowledge It. Now It Is Designed, In The Providence Of God, That The Latter-day Saints Should Show Whether They Have So Far Advanced In The Knowledge, In The Wisdom And In The Power Of God That They Cannot Be Overcome By The God Of The World. We Must Come To That Point.

Among Us, I Am Happy To Say, Old Age Is Honorable, And Regarded As A Blessing From The Lord. It Is Our Duty To Desire To Live Long Upon The Earth, That We May Do As Much Good As We Possibly Can. I Esteem It A Great Privilege To Have The Opportunity Of Living In Mortality. The Lord Has Sent Us Here "for A Wise And Glorious Purpose," And It Should Be Our Business To Find Out What That Purpose Is And Then To Order Our Lives Accordingly.

The Law Of Tithing Is One Of The Most Important Ever Revealed To Man. . . . Through Obeying This Law The Blessings Of Prosperity And Success Will Be Given To The Saints.

Our Religion Should Be Incorporated Within Ourselves, A Part Of Our Being That Cannot Be Laid Off.

You Exert A Certain Degree Of Influence, And Be It Ever So Small, It Affects Some Person Or Persons, And For The Results Of The Influence You Exert You Are Held Accountable. You, Therefore, Whether You Acknowledge It Or Not, Have Assumed An Importance Before God And Man That Cannot Be Overlooked.
