God Never Intended For Us To Be

Let No Man Pretend To Fear Sin That Does Not Fear Temptation Also! These Two Are Too Closely United To Be Separated. He Does Not Truly Hate The Fruit Who Delights In The Root.

Sin Aims Always At The Utmost; Every Time It Rises Up To Tempt Or Entice, If It Has Its Own Way It Will Go Out To The Utmost Sin In That Kind. Every Unclean Thought Or Glance Would Be Adultery If It Could, Every Thought Of Unbelief Would Be Atheism If Allowed To Develop. Every Rise Of Lust, If It Has Its Way Reaches The Height Of Villainy; It Is Like The Grave That Is Never Satisfied. The Deceitfulness Of Sin Is Seen In That It Is Modest In Its First Proposals But When It Prevails It Hardens Men’s Hearts, And Brings Them To Ruin.

The Vigour, And Power, And Comfort Of Our Spiritual Life Depends On The Mortification Of The Deeds Of The Flesh...the Choicest Believers, Who Are Assuredly Freed From The Condemning Power Of Sin, Ought Yet To Make It Their Business All Their Days To Mortify The Indwelling Power Of Sin...do You Mortify; Do You Make It Your Daily Work; Be Always At It Whilst You Live; Cease Not A Day From This Work; Be Killing Sin Or It Will Be Killing You.

When The Heart Is Once Won To Rest In God, To Repose Himself On Him, He Will Assuredly Satisfy It. He Will Never Be As Water That Fails; Nor Hath He Said At Any Time To The Seed Of Jacob, "seek Ye My Face In Vain." If Christ Be Chosen For The Foundation Of Our Supply, He Will Not Fail Us.

Pardon Comes Not To The Soul Alone; Or Rather, Christ Comes Not To The Soul With Pardon Only! It Is That Which He Opens The Door And Enters By, But He Comes With A Spirit Of Life And Power.
