Maybe Every Few Eons, Some Animal Comes Along That Kills Off The Rest Of The World, Clears The Decks, And Lets Evolution Proceed To Its Next Phase.

Writing A Book Is A Bit Like Going On Location For A Movie. You're Absent From Your Life, Your Family, And Your Friends. You're Psychologically Gone, So You Might As Well Be Physically Gone.

She Had Been Living Like A Hermit Herself, In A Cramped, Seedy Apartment In Somerville, Spending Long Hours In The Lab. All-nighters Had Become A Regular Thing. I Eventually Realized That Direct Experience Is The Most Valuable Experience I Can Have. Western Man Is So Surrounded By Ideas, So Bombarded With Opinions, Concepts, And Information Structures Of All Sorts, That It Becomes Difficult To Experience Anything Without The Intervening Filter Of These Structures.
