Without Prolonged Moments Of Adoration, Of Prayerful Encounter With The Word, Of Sincere Conversation With The Lord, Our Work Easily Becomes Meaningless; We Lose Energy As A Result Of Weariness And Difficulties, And Our Fervor Dies Out. The Church Urgently Needs The Deep Breath Of Prayer, And To My Great Joy Groups Devoted To Prayer And Intercession, The Prayerful Reading Of God's Word And The Perpetual Adoration Of The Eucharist Are Growing At Every Level Of Ecclesial Life.

There Is A Need For Financial Reform Along Ethical Lines That Would Produce In Its Turn An Economic Reform To Benefit Everyone. This Would Nevertheless Require A Courageous Change Of Attitude On The Part Of Political Leaders.

Let Us Ask Mary To Help Us Respond To Violence, To Conflict And To War, With The Power Of Dialogue, Reconciliation And Love. She Is Our Mother: May She Help Us To Find Peace; All Of Us Are Her Children!

May Christ The Savior Give Peace To Nigeria, Where More Blood Is Being Shed And Too Many People Are Unjustly Deprived Of Their Possessions, Held As Hostages Or Killed.

Let No One Consider Themselves To Be The 'armour' Of God While Planning And Carrying Out Acts Of Violence And Oppression!
